Fremithi in Old Dutch means: ‘Strange, Weird, Not From Here’.
Strange. That is how Fremithi’s work can be characterized. An uncharted and unknown reality, riddled with dark abysses and endless structures. It is not clear what you’re looking at; is it organic matter, or the artefact of a long forgotten civilization? Fremithi invites you to search for an answer to the mysteries hidden inside these drawings. Like an archeologist at a dig, trying to reconstruct a lost civilization from the structures left behind.
Fremithi works and lives in The Netherlands.

Scorpio: alter ego of Fremithi
In Greek mythology it was the Scorpion that stung the hunter Orion to save the creatures on Earth. As Fremithi's alter ego, Scorpio searches the brims of humanity, where darkness looms. Scorpio observes these depths of human society as a keeper of sewer.
